Reeds’n Stuff Gouging machine for Oboe (European Standard)

This gouging machine for oboe cane is made from a single block of aluminium, which gives it the advantage of perfect alignment and symmetry.

The thickness adjustment dial is very precise and sensitive (with increments of 0.5mm). This gouging machine is very precise and well finished. We offer a choice of two « standard » cane beds: a 10.5mm bed with a 11.40mm blade, and a 11mm bed with a 11.80mm blade. The second option is more suitable for the French market and for players who prefer a wider diameter of tube cane. The ratios of center / sides will be around 0.16mm to 0.18mm for a diameter close to 10.5mm; and 0.13mm to 0.15mm for a diameter close to 11mm.

Note : we recommend dry gouging for greater accuracy.

Oboe Cane Selection

• For tube cane with a diameter of 10.-10.5mm: choose a machine with a 10.5mm cane bed and a 11.40mm blade
• For tube cane with a diameter of 10.5-11mm: choose a machine with a 11mm cane bed and a 11.80mm blade
