Reed maker, Oboe specialist and musician
Since 1992 Dimiter Jordanov has been active in the music scene in Quebec, Canada, as principal oboist with the Trois-Rivières Symphony orchestra, and as a freelance musician with major ensembles and orchestras in Quebec and elsewhere in Canada. He has performed under the baton of prestigious conductors such as Leonard Bernstein, Yehudi Menuhin, Jacques Lacombe, Charles Dutoit, Gabriele Ferro, and Yannick Nézet-Séguin, amongst others.
Between 2007 and 2018 Dimiter Jordanov based himself in Lyon, France, with his wife and two daughters, focusing his professional activities on his oboe specialist company Le Roseau Chantant, which he founded in 1998. He has regularly given reed-making master classes at the most prestigious universities and conservatoires in Canada, Bulgaria, France, Switzerland, Germany, Denmark, the United Kingdom, Spain, Austria, and Australia, and continues actively to grow his company since its return to Montreal, Canada in June 2018.
