Chiarugi 2E brass Oboe staple
This staple is based on the original conception by Chudnow Woodwinds.
It is designed to improve sound projection. Two rubber rings replace the cork normally covering the lower part of the staple, to achieve the necessary air seal. This is because cork, though a useful type of ‘sound filter’ for some of the upper frequencies, can also have a considerable damping effect on the vibration of the air column.
The pitch of this staple is slightly higher, and it is therefore only available in 47 mm and 46 mm lengths.
