C’est le tube le plus serré. Il est plus bas au niveau du diapason et peut être utilisé pour tous les instruments qui sont anciens (avec une perce moins résistante), qui sont plus haut de diapason ainsi que sur tous les instruments qui octavient un peu haut.
Le son est particulièrement rond et sombre, très centré et plus résistant dans tous les registres.
