George was the father of T.W. (Tom) Howarth, whose name became the company&#8217;s official name &#8211; T. W. Howarth &amp; Co Ltd  &#8211; when it was established in1948. In 2008, the firm changed its name to Howarth of London Ltd, to reflect its expanded business and growing international repuation.<\/p>\n<p>Today, Howarth of London is internationally recognized as the manufacturer of some of the very finest oboes, oboes d&#8217;amore and Cors anglais in the world.  Furthermore, the company is also considered a leading manufacturer in bassoons, clarinets, and saxophones.
