French-scrape Cor anglais Reeds<\/h5>\n

Our French-scrape Cor anglais reeds are supple and responsive. Although well balanced, they also speak easily in the second octave. They have a somewhat richer vibration in the higher frequences than the German-scrape reeds. Air circulates rapidly within the reed, requiring less physical effort. Their W-scrape is beween 11 and 11.5 mm long.<\/p>\n

Compared with the U-shaped German scrape, they are less open because of the Reed Shaper style, and because the scrape is flatter.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

The tip is longer and thins out very gradually.
\nThe central spine is well defined, to preserve resistance and aperture stability. These reeds are slightly longer (approximately 58mm).<\/p>\n

Each phase of this process is carried out exclusively by our own oboe specialists in our studio.<\/p>\n

Once pre-selection, pre-gouging, and gouging of the cane has been carried out, we use a profiling machine by Kunibert Michel, equipped with a RC template. From this stage onwards, all processing is done exclusively by hand. All Cor anglais reeds are tested on a M\u00f6nnig 180 Diamante instrument with a Lor\u00e9e plaqu\u00e9 or #2H crook.<\/h5>\n
